This is the first Old Augustinians Remembrance Service since 2019 when our new War Memorial was unveiled inside the Church.

The Service was officiated by St. Augustine's own Priest, Fr. Simon Heans, with organ music by their music director Ben Scott, playing Elgar's "Nimrod" followed by the opening Hymn, "Abide with me" and the final Hymn "O God our hope in ages past". Ursuline Students; Isaac Prince, Martha Prince, Gracie May-Icke and Connor Turner read the Old Augustinians Roll of Honour. OA President, Dr. Chris Horsburgh read "At the going down of the sun" and the Trumpeter sounded the Last Post before two minutes silence was observed.

The Trumpeter sounded "Reveille" before Harriet Taylor, Head Girl of the Ursuline College, read from the Book of Wisdom.

OA Archivist, Peter West gave an interesting talk about OA William "Billy" Connolly who died in 1943. Please see link:

A blessing of graves took place outside followed by the laying of the wreath at our Old Augustinians War Memorial by OA Chairman, Andrew Sharp and Ursuline Head Boy, Harvey Bonny followed by a prayer and blessing of the Memorial.

Afterwards Tea and Coffee was served in the Visitor Centre where the Old Augustinians presented their annual donations to St. Augustine's Church and to the Ursuline College.

Andrew Sharp, OA Chairman, thanked Fr. Simon and St. Augustine's Church for the Service and urged OAs to support their appeal to raise funds for essential repairs.
